St John the Baptist Primary School
We have had another busy half term in Nursery. We started off the term learning about Bonfire night and doing lots of firework art. We have continued to develop our social skills and are becoming really good at sharing with our friends. We then started getting ready for Christmas and learnt about the Christmas story. We loved having parents into nursery with us to do some Christmas crafts and showing them our classroom.
It’s been another busy term in Nursery. We have loved our theme of Fantasy and Adventure. The children have enjoyed learning about some traditional tales including Jack and the Beanstalk and The Gingerbread Man. They became so confident at talking about the stories and recalling the key phrases. In Spring 1 the children enjoyed going out on a winter walk in the frost and looking spotting birds and their nests. As part of Children’s mental health week, Penny the therapy dog came into visit. The children loved watching her do some tricks and giving her strokes and cuddles. In Spring 2 we had funky feet coming in each week to work with us. The children have loved getting active and exploring different ways of moving.
