Class 4 - Miss Smith

Autumn- All about me!

What a busy Autumn term we've had in Class 4. In Autumn 1 the children have loved learning about our school and the different communities they are a part of. In Autumn 2 we have been looking at different festivals including Bonfire Night, Diwali and Christmas. Across the term we have been out on trips to the soft play, cinema and Pizza Hut and loved spending time with each other as a class. We also loved having a lady from Stockton Library come in and share some Christmas stories with us. Class 4 have loved their outdoor learning and gardening sessions with Miss Nugent, they haven't been scared to get involved and messy! As a class we have enjoyed getting the classroom ready for Christmas and joining in with lots of festive celebrations as well as learning the meaning behind Christmas.

Spring- Let's Get Messy!

It's been another busy term in Class 4. We have learnt about the work of different artists in our topic Let's Get Messy and enjoyed recreating their art work. We have enjoyed exploring lots of different medias and textures and not been afraid to get messy. We have thought about the season and how our world around us chages during Spring. The children loved going out on a Spring walk and looking for signs of Spring. We have enjoyed lots of celebrations including Pancake Day, Chinese New Year, World Book Day and Easter. We loved having our parents and carers in for World Book Day and working with them around our classroom. The children have been fantastic when learning about the Easter story and can confidently retell the story. They have also enjoyed joining in with lots of Easter celebrations.

Summer- Wriggle and Crawl

Summer 2- Abstract Art

We’ve had another busy summer term in Class 4. We have loved getting outside more as the weather has been better!

The children loved our visit to the farm in Summer 1 as part of our theme ‘Wriggle and Crawl’. They enjoyed looking at and learning about different animals at the farm. The children also loved going on a mini beast hunt in school and found and investigated lots of different mini beasts.

As part of our PSHE work, the children loved having a visit from the RNLI. We learned about what they do and how we can keep safe around water. They also got

to try on some of their equipment!

The children have loved keeping active this term and have really enjoyed our PE sessions with Mr Park and our dance sessions with Gemma. The children loved learning a dance routine and being able

to invite the adults in to watch!

This year has flown by in class 4 but we have had so much fun together!
