Autumn term- Through the ages

We have had a very busy, but very fun Autumn term! We have loved our time outside with David, making wild wraps, foraging for food, making spears and having a spear throwing competition.

We were joined by visitors from Murton Park for our theme topic, where we learned about life in the Stone Age. We enjoyed a lovely visit to TGI Fridays as part of our promises to learn the skills of using cutlery.

For our VIPERs, we enjoyed reading the book 'The Iron Man' and did not want it to end! Towards Christmas, we have enjoyed visits to church and also worked with Ian Ramsey school for our Prayer Spaces. We worked so hard to learn songs for our Christingle service and our parents loved it! 

We are ready for a Christmas break before being back for the Spring term!

Spring - Rocks, Relics and Rumbles

Spring term has been another busy term. Our topic was “Rocks, Relics and Rumbles” and we have loved learning about the earth, especially about volcanoes. In science we tested forces and magnets, in art we created fossil stamps and sketching, in computing we learned about branching databases and programming through scratch. 

Our VIPERS book was 'The Twits' and we loved reading about Lila and her adventures. We acted out parts of the story, predicted next parts and described characters. We are looking forward to reading The Alien in the jam factory after Easter.
We have loved singing and learning new songs with Miss Sheraton and Mr Gibson, especially the thank you song. 
Lauren from St Paul’s church came and led Easter prayer spaces which allowed us to reflect on what we are thankful for and what we would wish for the world. In RE we continued with this work and thought about why Christians call the day Jesus died Good Friday.
