Uniform Information

We do not require you to buy uniform from a specific supplier and no branded uniform is required. You may choose to have the school logo or your child's initials embroidered onto the uniform but it is not necessary, we just ask that you write your child's name/initials on the label.

We have a range of good quality nearly new uniform available to families. There is also the 'St John's Community Swap Shop Page' on Facebook, which is run by parent volunteers  https://www.facebook.com/St-John-The-Baptist-school-community-swap-shop-120854543035543/

What does my child need to wear?

We ask children to wear the following uniform:

  • Yellow polo shirts
  • Burgundy sweatshirt/jumper/cardigan
  • Black or grey skirts or trousers - in school trouser material
  • Plain socks – not football socks
  • Flat black shoes or black trainers
  • School summer dresses in red or yellow are suitable and black/grey shorts - in school trouser material (just above the knee) in the summer months.
  • PE Kit - navy/black shorts and a plain white T-shirt

Where can I get uniform from?

At the main school office, we sell new sweatshirts and polo shirts in school (from Motif8) at cost price. These have the school emblem on. This is a non profit sale. We also have a large supply of second hand uniform available for free. Please ask Helen Conroy (Welfare Lead) or a member of the office staff.

Elizabeth Embroidery offers an embroidery service for our school uniforms if you wish to add this.
We also have PE kits in school to purchase, again these are at cost price.

Sweatshirts £10

Polo shirts £7.50

Book Bags £4.00

PE Kit £3.50

Can my child wear jewellery?

Jewellery is not appropriate within school and should be left at home. If jewellery is brought to school it is kept securely in the school office until home time.  If a child has their ears pierced, they are only allowed to wear studs and these must be removed for PE. If ears have been recently pierced then children should ensure earrings are taped up for PE lessons. Make up and nail varnish are also not allowed for school.

What do they need to wear for PE?

We ask children to bring a white T-shirt and black/navy shorts for PE and a pair of trainers or plimsolls. PE kits are available from the school office. In the winter, tracksuits are also suitable as we try to take the children outside for as many lessons as possible. We have spare kit in school to ensure children do not miss out on PE lessons if they do not have a change of clothes in school. Please try and leave the kit in school each week and take it home in the holidays for washing.
