Class 3 - Mrs Hammond (Y1)

Autumn - Childhood

What a great first term Class 3 has had! We’ve settled well into KS 1 and have been excited to learn so many new things and new subjects.

In Science, we explored materials and created dens and shelters that would keep us warm and dry.  We then moved on to the human body and learning parts of the body and our senses. In History, we learnt about the past and what it was living in different decades, our favourite part was learning how gaming has changed over time.

We have visited the cinema and enjoyed our lunch at Nandos, we welcomed a visitor from the local museum who brought toy from the past for us to investigate and we have had lots of fun in December including cookies and milk at the local cafe, stories around the tree and had fun at the pantomime.

It has been an amazing term - let's do it all again in the Spring!

Spring - Bright Lights, Big City!

Another great term of learning and fun in class 3.We’ve settled well into our new classroom and and continue to thrive in all areas.

In History, we learnt about the past and what it was living in London during The Great Fire of London and we even had a visit from Mr Hammond who taught us some old fashioned Cockney slang!

We have visited the farm and enjoyed exploring our local area as part of work on The Harmony Project.

In RE, we have been learning about what God is like and this has sparked lots of deep conversations.

We have welcomed Mrs Galloway back on a Tuesday and she has been helping us use the IPADS safely and has introduced us to Purple Mash.

We are now looking forward to the Summer term with more sunshine and outdoor learning!
