Autumn 1 2025: Everyone Different, Everyone Loved...

This term has been full of energy and outdoor adventures!

The children have enjoyed staying active and exploring nature through regular walks to the local playground and our school forest. During these visits, they took part in litter picking activities, helping them to develop an understanding of caring for their environment.

The children particularly loved going on a squirrel hunt in the forest and taking part in autumn-themed activities, including exploring pumpkins and learning about the changing seasons.

We have also had lots of fun singing nursery rhymes such as Incy Wincy Spider and many others. These weekly walks and outdoor sessions have provided valuable opportunities for the children to learn, explore, and stay active while enjoying the fresh air.

Autumn 2 2025: How does bear celebrate?

This term has been filled with excitement and many memorable experiences. The children have enjoyed observing the changing weather, playing in the snow, and learning about the seasons, with a particular focus on autumn.

They took part in a range of special celebrations, including Children in Need, Remembrance Day, and Bonfire Night, where they decorated biscuits and created beautiful artwork.

We also celebrated Bear’s birthday with a special tea party, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Throughout the term, the children have been developing important social skills, such as sharing and turn-taking, through a variety of games and activities.

In the lead-up to Christmas, the children learned about the festive season through baking biscuits, creating Christmas crafts, enjoying festive stories, and taking part in a visit to Cherry Hill Garden Centre. Overall, it has been a busy, joyful term full of learning, creativity, and celebration.

Spring 1 2026: That's Not My Bear.

At the beginning of the Spring term, the children have thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a range of celebrations and special events. These have included Chinese New Year, Pancake Day and Number Day, all of which provided exciting opportunities for the children to explore new experiences and join in with themed activities.

One of the highlights for the children was celebrating Postman Bear’s birthday. They especially enjoyed going on a local walk to post his birthday card, which helped to bring their learning to life in a meaningful and memorable way.

The children have also been developing their understanding of 2D shapes through a variety of engaging, hands-on activities. They have explored shapes in different contexts, helping them to recognise and name common shapes in a fun and interactive way.

In addition, the children took part in a nature walk around the local area. This experience allowed them to explore the natural environment, observe changes in the season, and develop their curiosity about the world around them.

Overall, it has been a busy and enjoyable start to the term, with the children showing great enthusiasm and engagement in all activities.

Spring 2: Down on the Farm with Bear!

This term has been full of exciting learning opportunities, and the children have been very busy exploring a range of creative, physical, and topic-based activities.

A key focus for the term has been our topic on the farm. The children have shown great interest in learning about different farm animals, including what they look like, the sounds they make, and where they live. Through stories, discussions, and hands-on activities, they have developed their understanding of life on a farm. The children particularly enjoyed creating their own farm pictures using a variety of materials, and many are now able to confidently name a range of farm animals and describe some of their features.

Alongside this, we have taken part in lots of physical activities to support the children’s development. These have included both indoor and outdoor games, helping to build coordination, balance, and confidence while encouraging teamwork and active play.

As we approached Easter, the children learned about how this special celebration is recognised and enjoyed by different families. We explored traditions and talked about the meaning of Easter in an age-appropriate way. The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a variety of Easter-themed crafts, using different techniques such as painting, sticking, and decorating.

A highlight of the term was our Easter stay-and-play session, where parents joined us in the setting. This was a wonderful opportunity for the children to share their learning and creativity, and for families to take part in activities together.

Overall, it has been a very busy and enjoyable term. The children have shown enthusiasm, curiosity, and creativity in everything they have done — we have truly had an eggcellent time! 🐣
