Autumn Term 1 2023: My Everyday Life!

The children have had an exciting start to the school year and are quickly settling into their setting. This half term we have been busy playing and learning all about ourselves. We have been learning how to share and take turns and how to be kind to each other. We have enjoyed a trip to the Land of Make Believe and have been learning all about Autumn and creating beautiful leaf artwork.

Autumn Term 2 2023: How does Bear celebrate?

The children this term have enjoyed celebrating different festivals and celebrations with bear, for example, Bear's Birthday, Bonfire Night, Diwali, Remembrance Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas. We have also enjoyed listening to all the children's  adventures at their home with our Class Bear.

Spring Term 1: That's not my Bear!

This term we have had lot of fun exploring and learning about different topics. We have been celebrating Chinese New Year, eating lots of Chinese food, and joining in with our very own Dragon Dance. We have been doing lot of activities around Shrove Tuesday, and been trying lots yummy pancakes together. We have been celebrating postman bear's birthday, and posting him a birthday card. We have also had fun visiting our local play ground, enjoying lots of climbing and going down the slide. This term we have been introducing some new Makaton signs, which the children have enjoyed using together in Nursery.

Spring Term 2: Down on the Farm with Bear!

This term we have been very busy learning all about the farm, and all the animals you find at the farm. We have been finding out the different sounds the farm animal's make, and the Makaton sign for each farm animal. We have decorated farm biscuits, we played in farm themed tuff trays making lots of mess, and we have had lots of fun painting and animal printing. We have enjoyed having our families in during World Book Day looking at all the books we have been reading, and at the end of the term exploring Easter crafts and decorating lots of Easter Eggs.

Summer Term 1: Who will Bear make friends with in the garden?

During this term we have enjoyed exploring and investigating all about minibeast, and what grows in our garden.  We had lots of fun on a school trip on a minibeast trail. We were excited to invite parent/carer's in and celebrate World Bee Day together with lots of activities, even making our own Bee crowns. We have also planted seeds to take home to watch grow and making our very own garden centre in our class room. We have enjoyed finding out who will Bear make friends with in the garden, and getting to know the creatures that live in the garden.

Summer Term 2: What will Bear see at the seaside?

We have had lots of outdoor learning this term enjoying the lovely weather, developing our physical skills, exploring,  climbing, balancing, running, riding our bikes and cars. The children have enjoyed learning and exploring about all the different sea creatures together. We have also been on a trip to Seaton Carew building sand castles, walking to the waters edge and chased the waves. To complete our promise we enjoyed having ice-creams and ice lolly's together at the seaside.
