EMS2 - Miss Turner

Autumn term

We have had a lovely start to the year in EMS2.  The children have settled in well and have enjoyed exploring our new classroom.  We have bused our imaginations  in the role play area, played outside in the late September sunshine and got to know each other through circle time and team building activities.

EMS2 have had an excellent term and have been very busy!  We have learnt all about being a child in the 1950s in theme and played some traditional games which was different but fun.  We have been exploring the human body and what it needs to stay healthy in science and PSHE.
We had a lovely visit to the Pottery Loft where we made beautiful tree decorations and a fantastic ice skating trip where we all showed confidence and resilience on the ice.

The term ended with a brilliant Christmas performance for families and friends which blew us all away with how good it was!
Well done everyone for all your hard work

Spring term

EMS2 have had a busy and fun-packed Spring term.  We have been on a promises trip for a delicious pub lunch and visited Kirkleatham museum and grounds where we enjoyed an ice cream in the sunshine.  We have been looking at how plants grow in Science and are looking forward to planting some herbs and vegetables next term in our outdoor area.  We made bird feeders as part of our work with the RSPB to protect and encourage birds then rounded of the term with an Easter egg hunt with family and friends.  Finally most of our class went on a residential trip to Bendrigg where they had a fantastic adventure trying new activities and forming new friendships.

We are looking forward to seeing what the Summer term brings!
