St John the Baptist Primary School
We have had a very busy term and made lots of memories. We have loved speed stacking, found sewing tricky but didn't give up, went swimming and even jumped in the deep end, went to Eden Camp and sang our hearts out for our families in our Christmas performance. We also lead a worship about trust.
We have settled into our new class routines and even welcomed a new person to our class. In English we used our world war knowledge to write diary entries about the Blitz, Non-Chronological reports and letters.
Skip2BFit and HoopStarz have kept our bodies fit and we have played different memory games to keep our brain working hard.
We are looking forward to Spring and our new topic!
Class 8 have had an action packed start to 2025. Our theme topic this term was ‘Frozen Kingdoms’ and we have loved learning about everything from the Titanic to icebergs and the great Antarctic explorers to the indigenous people of the Arctic regions. In science, we have been learning about electricity and electrical circuits, culminating in us applying our new knowledge to make wire-buzzer games. We have been celebrating our differences for Autism and World Downs Syndrome day and putting new and existing skills into practise for STEM and Number’s Day. Our ice-skating trip early on in the term was lots of fun and timed perfectly with our frozen theme! In March we visited Hartlepool Sixth Form College for an ‘explosive’ science show that not only had us covering our ears but sparked our curiosity and wonder about chemical reactions and how things work. We look forward to coming back to school refreshed and ready for the Summer term!
