AUTUMN 1

We have had a fantastic first half term in Reception and have been busy learning lots of new and exciting things, including our whole school rules, putting our coats on, writing our names and dressing for PE. We have started taking part in whole school worship with the rest of school, learning new songs, the school prayer and staying focused for the whole of worship time. We have found out about families, different houses, parts of the body and how to talk about our feelings.  We have welcomed some new faces in class and we are all making friends and learning how to share.

AUTUMN 2

We have had a fantastic and busy second half term in Class 1.  We have learnt how to skip during our skipping day, visited the cinema, Pizza Hut and The Owl Sanctuary and we have loved all of our special days. We have found out about night and day, nocturnal animals, celebrations of light and of course Christmas.

SPRING 1

Spring term 1 has been a very cold half term, not only outside but also in the classroom as we have been learning about our Wonderful Winter.  The children have been very interested in learning about The Arctic, the animals that live there and finding the polar regions on the globes.

We have also been working on becoming more independent and completing learning tasks by ourselves.

We have tasted various foods including the baked shape biscuits we made, Chinese food as part of Chinese New Year week and then tasting cold food such as ice cream and ice lollies.

SPRING 2

Spring term 2 has been a fun half term and we have enjoyed watching the season change into a lovely bright and colourful Spring.  The children have been very interested in learning about minibeasts and how plants and flowers grow in our gardens.  We had a wonderful trip to Butterfly world and saw lots of gorgeous butterflies fluttering around and even landing on our heads!

We have celebrated Shrove Tuesday, World Down Syndrome Day, Autism Awareness Day and Easter all of which have helped us learn about British Values.

SUMMER 1
