Autumn 1 2025: Everyone Different, Everyone Loved...
This term has been full of energy and outdoor adventures!
The children have enjoyed staying active and exploring nature through regular walks to the local playground and our school forest. During these visits, they took part in litter picking activities, helping them to develop an understanding of caring for their environment.
The children particularly loved going on a squirrel hunt in the forest and taking part in autumn-themed activities, including exploring pumpkins and learning about the changing seasons.
We have also had lots of fun singing nursery rhymes such as Incy Wincy Spider and many others. These weekly walks and outdoor sessions have provided valuable opportunities for the children to learn, explore, and stay active while enjoying the fresh air.
Autumn 2 2025: How does bear celebrate?
This term has been filled with excitement and many memorable experiences. The children have enjoyed observing the changing weather, playing in the snow, and learning about the seasons, with a particular focus on autumn.
They took part in a range of special celebrations, including Children in Need, Remembrance Day, and Bonfire Night, where they decorated biscuits and created beautiful artwork.
We also celebrated Bear’s birthday with a special tea party, which was thoroughly enjoyed by everyone. Throughout the term, the children have been developing important social skills, such as sharing and turn-taking, through a variety of games and activities.
In the lead-up to Christmas, the children learned about the festive season through baking biscuits, creating Christmas crafts, enjoying festive stories, and taking part in a visit to Cherry Hill Garden Centre. Overall, it has been a busy, joyful term full of learning, creativity, and celebration.
Spring 1 2026: That's Not My Bear.
This term has been filled with exciting experiences as we explored a variety of celebrations and the different ways people celebrate.
The children thoroughly enjoyed taking part in Number Day, where they developed their mathematical skills through practical, hands-on activities.
We celebrated Pancake Day by learning about its traditions and enjoying tasting pancakes together, our celebrations continued with Chinese New Year, where the children discovered new cultural traditions, explored symbolic colours, and sampled a range of foods. They particularly enjoyed using their senses to describe the tastes, textures, and smells of the different foods.
During Children’s Mental Health Week, we were delighted to host a special Stay and Play session. It was wonderful to welcome parents and carers into the classroom to share activities focused on wellbeing and positive relationships.
We celebrated Postman Bears birthday and took a walk to post a letter for his birthday and we enjoyed having a tea party to celebrate with him.
Alongside our celebrations, we have been developing our understanding of shapes and colours. The children have been learning to recognise and name 2D shapes and have enjoyed exploring colours through creative and practical activities.
It has been a fantastic term, and we are very proud of the children’s enthusiasm, curiosity, and growing confidence in their learning.
