We have had a busy Autumn term in Class 6!
In Science, we learnt about the importance of nutrition for humans and other animals. The children explored the role of the skeleton and muscles and identified animals with different types of skeletons. In History, we stepped back in time to study British prehistory, from the Stone Age to the Iron Age!
In Art, we were introduced to Bell Beaker pottery. The children experimented with different clay techniques, which they used to create and decorate a Bell Beaker-style pot.
The end of the term has been full of festive excitement—we’ve enjoyed a trip to the pantomime, along with our own Christmas parties and performances.
What an amazing term it has been—well done, Class 6!
Spring Term

This term, the children have been busy exploring our exciting topic, ‘Rocks, Relics and Rumbles’, where they have learnt about different types of rocks and how volcanoes are formed. In Science, they particularly enjoyed investigating forces and experimenting with magnets. In Maths, we have been focusing on fractions and decimals.
We were incredibly proud of the children’s creativity on World Book Day, where they amazed everyone with their fantastic costumes. In addition, the children took part in Rock Your Socks Day, celebrating individuality and enjoying lots of fun together.
The children also had an amazing time at Tees Barrage, taking part in bell boating and raft building activities. Everyone has worked extremely hard this term, and I am very proud of Class 6.
Summer Term
Year 4 has had a fantastic year filled with exciting learning, creativity, and achievement. One of the highlights was our history topic on the Romans, where we explored what life was like in Roman Britain, discovered the impact of the Roman Empire, and learnt about the lasting legacy they left behind.
As part of our learning, we designed and created our own beautiful Roman-inspired mosaics, carefully planning patterns and using colour to produce impressive pieces of artwork. We also enjoyed celebrating our school's birthday, taking part in special activities and reflecting on the history and community of our school.
This year, Year 4 worked incredibly hard in mathematics, and we are especially proud of their impressive results in the Multiplication Tables Check. Their dedication, perseverance, and regular practice have really paid off, and they should be very proud of what they have achieved.
Throughout the year, the children have shown curiosity, resilience, kindness, and enthusiasm in everything they have done. They have grown in confidence, developed new skills, and created many wonderful memories along the way. We are incredibly proud of all they have accomplished and wish them every success as they move on to the next stage of their learning journey. Have a fantastic summer!
