St John the Baptist Primary School
In 2017, our pupil admission numbers increased, from 30, to 45 places in response to a request from the Local Authority.
We sought to decrease our pupil admission numbers following a school placements meeting with the Local Authority, data shows a decrease in the birth rate meaning less demand for school places.
Following our request to the Local Authority to reduce our intake back to 30 in September 2023, there was a consultation period and it was agreed this could happen.
From Sept 2025 we will be undertaking significant building work, therefore our numbers are currently capped in Year 3 and Year 4.
Our current admission intakes for each year group for 2025/26 are as follows:
Reception | 30 |
Year 1 | 30 |
Year 2 | 30 |
Year 3 | Usually 45 but currently capped |
Year 4 | Usually 45 but currently capped |
Year 5 | 45 |
Year 6 | 45 |
Specialist Provision | 24 |
ARP | 20 |
