Autumn Term 2022- Invasions

We have had a very busy start to the year and had an eventful half-term! In class we have been working very hard on being good friends and respecting our school rules. In maths we have focused on place value and addition. In English we have been working hard on phonics, writing simple sentences and reading daily in class.  Some children have thoroughly enjoyed integrating into their mainstream classes and enjoyed PE, music and theme lessons. We are all looking forward to the Spring Term to continue with our learning and for some exciting changes to our provision!

Spring 1 2023- Muck, Mess and Mixtures!

The children have thoroughly enjoyed this topic and have loved getting messy! We've learnt all about mixing liquids to create scientific reactions. We've mixed primary colours, creating a rainbow of secondary colours. We've enjoyed tasting foods from around the world and agreed that some foods were a little too bitter, or spicy! The children listened intently to the story of George's Marvellous Medicine by Roald Dahl and completed some lovely written work based on descriptions of the characters.  The children have worked well and are much more settled in class now that they are getting to know each other and form new friendships.

Spring 2:  Our Local Community

We've had an action packed half-term and loved learning about our local area. We had an exciting visit from the police and got to try on some police uniform and handcuffs! Some of the children enjoyed a basketball event and superhero sporting event at Redcar college. We have continued to enjoy weekly singing sessions and learn how to use Glockspiels in our music lessons. We have also had the pleasure of weekly sessions with the Therapy pony, too!
