Autumn 1 - What Happens When I Fall Asleep?
Have a look at the Phonics Play website to help your child learn their letter sounds.
What a great start to the school year we had with lots of fun mixed in. We have been learning about night time and what happens wen we fall asleep and the children made some beautiful dream catchers and dream jars. we came to school in our pyjamas and listened to bedtime stories and drank hot chocolate. Towards the end of the half term we thought about how animals prepare for winter an made some bird feeders and hung them around the school woodland. We all took part in a hoola hooping workshop and learnt some circus skills. All in all it was a very busy half term and we all needed a rest.
Autumn 2 - Are we there yet?
Take a look at this website and help your child become mentally healthy with yoga.
This half term, the children have explored the question ‘Are we there yet?’ We have all enjoyed learning about different modes of transport and had fun being creative with vehicle tyres. We read a number of books, although we mainly focused on ‘Emma Jane’s Aeroplane’ and some of the countries she visited; France and Italy. To end the half term, we had lots of festive fun; making Reindeer antlers, party hats, placemats and much more. We thoroughly enjoyed our Christmas party food and games, especially musical statues and pass the parcel.
SPRING 1 - Will you read me a story?
Wow! What an interesting yet fun filled half-term we have all had! We hall all worked extremely hard, whether in school or at home. We have enjoyed learning about traditional tales including Goldilocks and the three bears, Little Red Riding Hood and we have found out about Chinese New year. In Maths we have been having so much fun with numbers and shapes, solving problems with money and completing computer programmes to help with ordering. A highlight to this half term was Children's Mental Health Week and learning how we can express ourselves.
SPRING 2 - Do Cows Drink Milk?
It was lovely to have the whole class back together from March 8th and we all had fun learning about The Very Hungry Caterpillar and his journey from an egg to a beautiful butterfly. This also led us to think about healthy eating habits and lifestyles and why exercise and sleep are very important.
Since returning to school we have been busy outside tidying the flower beds, the vegetable patches and the outdoor learning area including creating a fabulous Easter garden for the whole school to enjoy.
It has been wonderful receiving work from home and these have been put on class displays so everyone can enjoy the work.
The children have been tremendous and have fully engaged in the school day and are making strides in their learning.
