It's been a busy half term in Nursery. We've read and been learning about traditional tales including Goldilocks and the Three Bears and The Three Little Pigs. We loved exploring what happens in Autumn and how things around us change during this time. We have also been busy exploring our new environment and making new friends. The children have loved being back at school and have had lots of fun!
It's been a lovely half term in nursery. We have been busy learning lots of new things. We have learnt about Winter and how the world around us changes during this season. We talked about how animals might struggle to find food and made bird feeders to put into the woodland. Nursery have really enjoyed getting our classroom ready for Christmas and have found this a really exciting time. Richard Drake shared Christmas stories with us virtually which we all enjoyed. They have loved learning about the Christmas story and are really confident talking about it!
How does that building stay up?
Do dragons exist?
It's been a very different half term in nursery for Spring 1. The children have been busy doing lots of learning both in school and at home and have all worked really hard. We started off this half term looking at buildings and houses before moving on to learning about some more traditional tales including The Three Little Pigs. We also enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year, we particularly enjoyed making lanterns, doing some dragon dancing and tasting some Chinese food!
It's been a fantastic half term in nursery. We have loved welcoming all of the children back into school. The children have built on their friendships with their peers and enjoyed being back in nursery learning together. We have done lots of learning based around Spring and Easter. The children loved going on a Spring walk around the school grounds looking for signs of Spring. We also read the story of The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The children were fantastic at retelling the story and talking about the lifecycle of a butterfly. We have also been learning about the Easter story and how Christians celebrate Easter.
This half term the children have enjoyed our topics of 'Can we explore it?' and 'What is a shadow?'. We have read lots of stories based around adventures such as 'Whatever Next', 'We're going on a bear hunt' and The Gruffalo. The children loved having a teddy bears picnic to end our bear hunt week. They enjoyed making and sharing food with each other. We have also read 'Peace at Last' to help us learn about shadows, light and dark. In response to this we recreated the Starry Night painting by Van Gogh. We have been doing lots of number recognition activities and the children are becoming more confident recognising numbers 1-10. We are all looking forward to our final half term in nursery.
