We love to cook at St John’s!
All of our children, from Nursery to Y6 have the opportunity to cook in school. We make a variety of foods, ranging from simple cakes and biscuits to the more challenging main courses. Cookery lessons are planned to suit the age and ability of the children. The children really enjoy each lesson and are keen to get involved. Cookery helps to enhance each child’s social skills and confidence and it is lots of fun!
Key Stage 2 children worked with Miss Nicholson on a project of their choice.
The children decided they would make a food blog with step by step instructions.
Our recipe section has some great recipes to try at home. With simple, step by step instructions, these recipes will be easy to follow. We will keep adding new recipes, so come back again to see what’s new.

Miss Nicholson also runs a cookery club each term for children and parents.
Our Let’s Get Cooking Club is a great way to learn new skills and create delicious food to take home.
The Let’s get Cooking website has great recipes and tips on cooking. Get information on cooking on a budget, involving children in cooking at home.
